Asian Dramas

CITY HUNTER and NANA BEAR (My favorite drama couple)

Dramaland becomes my sweet escape whenever I am physically, mentally and emotionally worn out joggling life's activities in the real world. It serves as my personal paradise where I can forget facing tough realities and indulge myself munching fluffy fantasies. An hour dose of a good and nutritious Asian drama can instantly pick me up no matter how terrible my day turns out. It may be exaggerated but at this point of my life, I can say that I can no longer live without this free and guiltless obsession. Just like breathing, watching Asian dramas already became a part of my body system that I have to do in order to survive this boring world of mine.

Here is an overview of my on-going Asian drama list. I compiled all the Asian dramas I've watched as a whole from beginning to end. I also included some small details and background information about the series, with my rating out of ten and some personal views.

(FRIENDLY REMINDER - Please don't get mad at me if you don't agree with my ratings and opinions. We all have different taste and fillers so the series may be enticing to you but not to me or the other way around. These are JUST MY THOUGHTS!!! DON'T TAKE IT PERSONALLY ^^ REMEMBER, TO EACH HIS OWN)

-> Because there's a huge difference between entertainment and quality, I decided to apply Dramabeans' rating system. (Note : There are dramas that I enjoy blindly, even if the story is far from the awesome line.) I've included two ratings on a scale of 1 (worst) to 10 (best), the first number shows "how much I enjoy" the drama and the second one presents "how good I think it is" objectively.

Rating : 8/8  (MAIN LEADS : SHIN HA KYUN & CHOI JUNG WON)

- A nerve-wracking medical drama about neuro-surgeons who treat operation rooms as their battlefields. Though the title is "Brain", content-wise, it has more "heart". Shin Ha Kyun's leading performance is mind-blowing.

Rating : 4/3  (MAIN LEADS : YOON SO YI & LEE JIN WOOK)

Episodes : 17 / Network : MBC (July-Aug. 2007)
Rating : 9/9 (MAIN LEADS : GONG YOO & YOON EUN HYE )

Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : GO HYUN JUNG & KWON SANG WOO)

- Intriguing, interesting and inspiring. It will give you a good look of the dirty world of politics. This drama shows deep values that most of the politicians in the present neglect to hold intentionally. The cast are amazing as well as the plot.
Title : DELIGHTFUL GIRL, CHUN YANG
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 17 / Network : KBS (Sept.2003-Mar.2004)
Rating : 9/8 (MAIN LEADS : JAE HEE & HAN CHAE YOUNG)

- From teen romance to mature love, the delightful pairing of Jae Hee and Han Chae Young made this fresh and funny parody engaging to watch. One of the rare dramas that I hated the second lead guy for ruining the main couple!
Title : DR. CHAMP
Genre : Sports, Medical, Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Sept-Nov.2010)
Rating : 10/8 (MAIN LEADS : KIM SO YEON & JUNG GYU WOON)

- A sports-medical drama that never got me bored. Unexpectedly, medical cases are interesting and sports stories are quite good. The main couple has a cute magnetic attraction that can pull you. I favor the hot judo guy over the hotshot doctor dude.

Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Jan-Mar.2011)
Rating : 10/9 (MAIN LEADS : KIM SOO HYUN & BAE SUZY)

Title : DREAM HIGH 2
Genre : School, Musical, Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Jan-Mar.2012)
Rating : 4/3 (MAIN LEADS : KANG SORA & JIN WOON)

- Disappointing love-lines, displeasing characters and depressing rivalries : Don't dream again if you're going to crash our expectations by giving a second-rate sequel as crappy as this. I loathe this show for shipwrecking the blossoming romance of Yoo Jin and Hae Sung.
Title : EAST OF EDEN
Genre : Family, Action, Romance
Episodes : 56
Network : MBC (Aug.2008-Mar.2009)
Rating : 7/6 (LEADS : SONG SEUNG HOON & YUN JUNG HOON)

- It has a stellar line-up of cast but the tragic story both in family and romance became too emotional to bear. The first half of the drama was interesting and convincing but the second half became too redundant to watch.
Title : FAMOUS CHIL PRINCESSES
Genre : Family, Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 80
Network : KBS (Apr.-Dec.2006)
Rating : 7/5 (CAST : KIM HYE SUN & CHOI JUNG WON)

- Watching an 80-episode family drama just because of the sole intention of seeing Lee Seung Gi's small role sounded ridiculous but I was surprised that it turned into an enjoyable watch.

Title : FASHION KING
Genre : Romance, Drama, Comedy
Episodes : 20
Network : SBS (March-May 2012)
Rating : (0/0) (MAIN LEADS : YOO AH IN & SHIN SE KYUNG)

Genre : Family, Romance
Episodes : 104
Network : SBS (Sept.2007-Oct.2008)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : KIM HYE SUN & AHN NAE SANG)

- Tuning in this drama every afternoon with my two aunts who are both separated made this more fun to watch. A story about housewives who got cheated by their husbands, it's emotional but hilarious!
Title : FLOWER BOYS RAMYUN SHOP
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : TVN (Oct-Dec.2011)
Rating : 5/7 (MAIN LEADS : JUNG IL WOO & LEE CHUNG AH)

- My strong love for Jung Il Woo failed to force me to root for his romance with an older chick. The eye-candies are definitely enjoyable! But still, no matter how mouth-watery the ingredients of the love line are, the overcooked main couple turns soggy in my viewing eyes.

Title : FORBIDDEN LOVE (Nine-tailed Fox)
Genre : Romance, Fantasy, Action
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (July-Sept.2004)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM TAE HEE & JO HYUN JAE)

- A love that cannot be between a mortal and a nine-tailed fox ; they are destined to kill but instead they fall in love with each other. The story is endearing and the leads are attractive but the tragic ending aches my heart in an unforgivable way.

Title : FRIENDS
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 4 / Network : MBC & TBS (Feb.2002)
Rating : 8/6 (MAIN LEADS : WON BIN & KYOKO FUKADA)

- Supremely attractive leads romancing each other in  a joint drama project between South Korea and Japan. It projects an ordinary but delightful long-distance relationship that surmounts language barrier, cultural differences and personal heavy baggage.
Title : FULL HOUSE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16
Network : KBS (July-Sept.2004)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : SONG HYE KYO & RAIN)

- Sweet, cute and light. The bickering romance of Rain and Song Hye Kyo has lots of comedy and sugary moments. One of the best cohabitation dramas you can find. It is so hip that I even memorized the Bear song.
Title : FUGITIVE : PLAN B
Genre : Action, Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 20 / Network : KBS (Sept-Dec.2010)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : RAIN & LEE NA YOUNG)

- Hot guys, gorgeous ladies, high-budgeted effects, action-packed scenes, overseas-locations, great humor but not-so great storyline. In ratings, it started strongly but ended poorly. It was overrated but it still managed to break out a decent entertainment.
Title : GOURMET
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 24
Network : SBS (June-Sept.2008)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : KIM RAE WON & NAM SANG MI)

- This Korean culinary-oriented drama will show you the different flavors of people's life in-line in food industry. An intense cooking battle of adopted brothers : Have a bite, feed your eyes of this comfort-food-like series.
Title : GREEN ROSE
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama, Thriller
Episodes : 22 / Network : SBS (March-May,2005)
Rating : 7/8 (MAIN LEADS : GO SOO & LEE DA HAE)

- This drama somehow reminds me of the novel and movie, The Count of Monte Cristo. After getting rich and powerful, the hero comes back with a new identity in order to exact revenge. Emotional and intense, it won't waste your time.
Title : HARU
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 1
Network : Website (Sept.2011)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : HAN CHAE YOUNG & PARK SHI HOO)

- A 30-minute web drama made to promote Korea's tourism. This super short drama has a lot of potential : star-studded cast, great chemistry, beautiful scenery and common but good conflict. It makes me want for more!

Title : HISTORY OF THE SALARYMAN
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 22 / Network : SBS (Jan-March.2012)
Rating : 9/8 (MAIN LEADS : LEE BUM SOO & JUNG RYEO WON)

- It rocks my socks off with its humorous plot featuring a goofy underdog, a foul-mouthed heiress, a quirky businessman and a witty researcher rolled in the corporate world filled with comical execution and tricky narration. The cheery epilogues are beyond awesome.
Title : I AM LEGEND
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Aug-Sept.2010)
Rating : 6/5 (MAIN LEADS : KIM JUNG EUN & LEE JOON HYUK)

- Great start! An ahjumma who wants to be a rock star and gets free from her cheating husband. But I got confused why a rock-band-chasing-dream-series turned into a social-working-law drama. It ended not so well for me. They wasted Lee Jung Hyuk's strong presence.
Title : I LOVE YOU, DON'T CRY
Genre : Romance, Family, Melo-drama
Episodes : 132
Network : MBC (Nov.2008-May.2009)
Rating : 4/3 (MAIN LEADS : LEE JUNG JIN & LEE YOO RI)

- This drama is so stressful to watch. Lee Jung Jin was the only reason why I bothered to finish this. Never-ending conflicts, complicated family ties, depressing problems and absurd ending made this unbearable.
Title : I NEED ROMANCE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : TVN (June-Aug.2011)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : JO YEO JUNG & KIM JUNG HOON)

- It's somehow similar to Sex and the City : sexy, adventurous, witty and funny. A sultry adult drama with humor that unveils the lives of three 30-ish women. This series had a lot of kissing and intimate scenes that I'm not sure whether I liked or not!
Title : IRIS
Genre : Action, Romance, Mystery, Thriller
Episodes : 20 / Network : KBS (Oct-Dec.2009)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : LEE BYUNG HOON & KIM TAE HEE)

- An "action-freak" like me absolutely enjoyed this. Powerhouse cast, explosive action scenes, mysterious plot and passionate romance are the factors that pushed this drama to be a phenomenon ; though the ending didn't make sense, well at least for me.
Title : IT'S OKAY, DADDY'S GIRL
Genre : Family, Melo-drama, Romance
Episodes : 17 / Network : SBS (Nov.2010-Jan.2011)
Rating : 7/5 (MAIN LEADS : MOON CHAE WON & CHOI JIN HYUK)

- Touching story of a father-daughter relationship. It's not really a great drama! Acting is fair enough, story is so-so and to be honest, Super Junior's Donghae is the main reason why I started this. But still, it has a warm element that keeps me going.
Title : JUMONG (Prince of The Legend)
Genre : Historical/Period drama, Romance, Action
Episodes : 81
Network : MBC (May 2006-March,2007)
Rating : 9/8 (MAIN LEADS : SONG IL GOOK & HAN HYE JIN)

- One of the greatest historical dramas in South Korea. It gives life to the legend in Korean history. Impressive cast, outstanding story, well-acted scenes and beautiful costumes are the reasons why I love this period series.

Title : JUNGLE FISH
Genre : School, Drama, Mystery
Episodes : 1 / Network : KBS (May 5, 2008)
Rating : 6/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM SOO HYUN & PARK BO YOUNG)

- Stealing exam papers just to accomplish good grades to get into a good college. A single episode is enough to be an eye-opener. The drama successfully reflects the appalling realities about the stern high standard of education set by the society in South Korea.

Title : JUNGLE FISH 2
Genre : School, Drama, Mystery
Episodes : 8 / Network : KBS (Nov-Dec. 2010)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : HONG JUNG HYUN & PARK JI YEON)

- School is cool? Well, not for the students of the gloomy Gahwa High where studying is equivalent to life or death. Have a quick lesson about suicide, teenage pregnancy, bullying, peer-pressure, unfair treatment and family issues. Kpop idol Park Ji Yeon is a revelation.

Title : KILLER GIRL K
Genre : Action, Sci-fi
Episodes : 3 / Network : CGV (Aug-Sept.2011)
Rating : 9/8 (MAIN LEADS : HAN GROO & KIM JUNG TAE)

- A murky kick-ass mini-drama with tiny bits of cute romance. If you're up for gruesome fight scenes filled with action, blood and combat, it's the perfect drama for you. But make sure you're in legal age before you watch it because of some adult content.
Title : LIE TO ME
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (May-June.2011)
Rating : 7/4 (MAIN LEADS : KANG JI HWAN & YOON EUN HYE)

- It had the potential to be amazing but sadly, it failed! The main couple is awesome but the rest are not. Recycled conflicts, slow progress, weak second leads and predictable ending ; But I took pleasure in some of the fluffy and jolly scenes.

Title : LOVE RAIN
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 20
Network : KBS (March-May 2012)
Rating : (0/0) (MAIN LEADS : JANG GEUN SUK & YOONA)

- ON GOING (Still-airing)
Title : LOVE STORY IN HARVARD
Genre : Romance, Law, Melo-drama
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Nov.2004-Jan.2005)
Rating : 9/8 (MAIN LEADS : KIM RAE WON & KIM TAE HEE)

- Two bright and accomplished students dueling not only in law school but also in one girl's heart. Intriguing law cases, attractive leads, cute chemistry and some light and heartwarming moments ; It's serious and informative yet amusing to watch.
Title : LOVERS
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (Nov.2006-Jan.2007)
Rating : 4/5 (MAIN LEADS : KIM JUNG EUN & LEE SEO JIN)

- Two people from different worlds collide and find love with each other. It started off strong but halfway through, the story got a bit draggy. It's not an impressive drama but still worth watching. Oh by the way, I am no fan of the ending!
Title : LOVERS IN PARIS
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (June-Aug.2004)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM JUNG EUN & PARK SHIN YANG)

- A record-breaking drama of 2004, it brought Park Shin Yang and Kim Jung Eun into the limelight. There is nothing unusual about the story but the undeniable chemistry of the Cinderella-inspired-heroine and the Mr. Darcy-hero successfully made this on the top.

Title : MAN OF HONOR (Glory Jane)
Genre : Family, Romance, Drama
Episodes : 24 / Network : KBS (Oct-Dec.2011)
Rating : 5/4 (LEADS : PARK MIN YOUNG & CHUN JUNG MYUNG)

- No homerun for this Baker King version 2.0. The anticipation vanished after 12 episodes of continuous hard-core "makjang". Why did they have to turn the baseball angst to absurd office competition? I still insist that Seo In Woo is the perfect catch for Yoon Jae In.
Title : MARRYING A MILLIONAIRE
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Nov.2005-Jan.2006)
Rating : 6/6 (MAIN LEADS : GO SOO & KIM HYUN JOO)

- Imagine the dating program "The Bachelor" with Korean touch. This series gave the reality show more drama and backdrop that brought back the flame of old lovers. Good-looking and well-suited couple mixed with not so common plot.
Title : MARY STAYED OUT ALL NIGHT (Marry Me, Mary)
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Nov-Dec.2010)
Rating : 5/3 (LEADS : MOON GEUN YOUNG & JANG GEUN SUK)

- I had high hopes but it all fell short. A lot of Geun2x fans will raise their eyebrows to me but I still have to say this : It's disappointingly boring! If not for the lovable cast, I wouldn't even bother to finish this. Sometimes, too much cuteness made me want to throw up.
Title : MASTER OF STUDY
Genre : School, Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Jan-Feb.2010)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : YOO SEUNG HO & PARK JI YEON)

- A bunch of lazy and aimless students set to get accepted into the country's most prestigious college, to make it a reality is the goal. Inspiring, good influence, full of values and study strategies ; A must watch for high-schoolers who are going to take SATs
Title : MIDAS
Genre : Business, Romance
Episodes : 21 / Network : SBS (Feb-May.2011)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : JANG HYUK & LEE MIN JUNG)

- Greedy, ambitious, powerful and discontented ; Have a peek of the glamorous and tricky world of business and stock manipulation. I know nothing about the theme but the flow of the story made me drawn into it. The well-acted cast deserve an A+ for their performance.
Title : MISS RIPLEY
Genre : Melo-drama, Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (May-July.2011)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : LEE DAE HAE & PARK YOO CHUN)

- Cunning and conniving lead, dark past and secrets, fast-moving plot and bitter and sweet love story. It's so refreshing to see a heroine without the kind, innocent and high-spirited facade. Neither did I liked nor hated the ending.
Title : MY FAIR LADY
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Aug-Oct.2009)
Rating : 4/4 (MAIN LEADS : YOON EUN HYE & YOON SANG HYUN)

- After I saw the trailer full of pep, I got curious and I started this but unfortunately it failed to capture my heart. Maybe it's only me but I felt empty chemistry between the spoiled ill-tempered heiress and her enthusiastic former gigolo butler.
Title : MY GIRL
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 21 / Network : SBS (Dec.2005-Feb.2006)
Rating : 9/9 (MAIN LEADS : LEE DA HAE & LEE DONG WOOK)

- Funny and witty, captivating chemistry between charming leads and quick turn-over of scenarios. I want to switched bodies with Lee Da Hae in this series because of two handsome and rich guys vying for her heart. Second Lead Syndrome greatly infected me!
Title : MY GIRLFRIEND IS A GUMIHO
Genre : Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Aug-Sept.2010)
Rating : 10/10 (MAIN LEADS : LEE SEUNG GI & SHIN MIN AH)

- Hilarious, super sweet, overflowing cuteness and highly adorable couple. Watch this legend-with-a-twist series when you feel down and it will instantly pick you up. Miho is the cutest creature I've ever seen in dramaland! This is absolutely my no.1 Hong sisters' penned series.

Title : MY PRINCESS
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (Jan-Feb.2011)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM TAE HEE & SONG SEUNG HOON)

- Song Seung Hoon and Kim Tae Hee in a fluffy series : It's like a dream come true to me. It's so fantastic to see this pair even if the story has less substance. It's enjoyable, laughable and watchable ; A light and sweet modern fairytale that will tickle your soft side.
Title : NEW TALES OF GISAENG
Genre : Family, Romance, Comedy, Drama
Episodes : 52 / Network : SBS (Jan-July.2011)
Rating : 10/10 (LEADS : IM SOO HYANG & BANG SUNG HOON)

- An underrated heartwarming family drama. It makes me laugh, smile, cry and fall in love. Watching this is like having a complete meal, you get full and satisfied after a feast of it. The main pair's love story is so heart-rending that it breaks and heals my heart at the same time.
Title : OH! MY LADY
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (March-May.2010)
Rating : 6/6 (MAIN LEADS : CHOI SI WON & CHAE RIM)

- Weightless, plain, and cute - a romance between an older woman and a younger man. You don't have to take this seriously because it's not as problematic as the other dramas are. Siwon's six-packed-abs made this enjoyable to watch.

Title : OJAKGYO BROTHERS
Genre : Family, Romance
Episodes : 58 / Network : KBS (Aug.2011-Feb.2012)
Rating : 9/9 (MAIN LEADS : JOO WON, UEE & RYU SOO YOUNG)

- A light-hearted drama for everyone. I found a hidden treasure box full of charming characters, touching love stories and heart-tugging family moments in the Ojakgyo farm. Although the love-lines move forward taking baby steps, I'm telling you, it's worth the wait!

Title : PARADISE RANCH
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Jan-March,2011)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : LEE YEON HEE & CHANG MIN)

- Young couple married, divorced, reconciled and proved that love is lovelier the second time around. The girl was the only lead I know that actually gave the second lead a shot in her heart. Although it lacked tight writing and strong acting, the charm of the cast carried the show.
Title : PARTNER
Genre : Law, Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (June-Aug.2009)
Rating : 6/6 (MAIN LEADS : LEE DONG WOOK & KIM HYUN JOO)

- The leads have the chemistry but romance is missing. I don't know why they didn't put much effort on the love spot of this drama. Appealing law cases are present but romantic scenarios are absent. Not even a single kissing scene in the entire 16 episodes if I'm not mistaken.
Title : PASTA
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 20 / Network : MBC (Jan-March.2010)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : GONG HYO JIN & LEE SEON KYUN)

- They're not the best-looking couple in K-dramaland but their romance flows beautifully. Nothing much happened in the entire 20-episodes but still, watching this will make you feel good because you don't have to stress-out yourself.
Title : PERSONAL TASTE (Perfect Match)
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (March-May,2010)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : SON YE JIN & LEE MIN HO)

- Another cohabitation drama with an uncommon story line. A hot and dashing architect pretending to be gay in order to rent a room in a clueless and naive girl's house. It's humorous, cute and pleasing to the eyes. Both leads are exceptionally beautiful and flexible.
Title : PLAYFUL KISS (Mischievous Kiss)
Genre : Romance, Comedy, School
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (Sept-Oct.2010)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM HYUN JOONG & JUNG SO MIN)

- I am a BIG FAN of the story so surely,  I supported all the versions from manga to anime to live-action adaptations. But I think this Korean version is the most impressive visually. It's perky, fluffy and light. The lead couple is lovable.
Title : PRINCE HOURS (Goong S)
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 20 / Network : MBC (Jan-March, 2007)
Rating : 6/5 (MAIN LEADS : SE7EN & HEO YI JAE)

- Less fun, less cute and less sweet male version of Princess Hours. This spin-off failed to live up the fairy tale Goong had made. I can't help but compare this with the female version. The cast and events are not as exciting as the first ones.
Title : PRINCESS HOURS (Goong)
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 24 / Network : MBC (Jan-March, 2006)
Rating : 10/9 (MAIN LEADS : YOON EUN HYE & JOO JI HOON)

- This is fantastic! The fusion of monarchy and modern society suit perfectly. Lots of comedy and honeyed moments. The settings and wardrobe are enchanting. The plot is cheering though near the end the story gets a little draggy.
Title : PROSECUTOR PRINCESS
Genre : Law, Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (March-May,2010)
Rating : 10/9 (MAIN LEADS : KIM SO YEON & PARK SHI HOO)

- I'm totally shocked because this drama is surprisingly fascinating and exciting. It handles law cases in a smooth, earnest and light manner. Story is twisty, romance is unpredictable, main pair is fabulous and ending is delightful. Park Shi Hoo stands out.

Title : ROOFTOP PRINCE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 20
Network : SBS (March-May 2012)
Rating : (0/0) (MAIN LEADS : PARK YOO CHUN & HAN JI MIN)

- ON GOING (Still-airing)
Title : SAVE THE LAST DANCE FOR ME
Genre : Romance, Drama
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (Oct.2004-Jan.2005)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : EUGENE & JI SUNG)

- Characters and story are familiar ; Rich guy got amnesia, fell in love with a poor girl, then he forgot her. After all the sacrifices in the name of love, I'm glad how the things turned out. Honestly, I appreciated the soundtrack more than the plot.
Title : SECRET GARDEN
Genre : Romance, Comedy, Fantasy
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (Nov.2010-Jan.2011)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : HYUN BIN & HA JI WON)

- Famous, award-winning, spellbinding and trend-setter : Who could have thought that a magical body/soul-switching drama can be this entertaining, whimsical, mushy and sweet? It's a certified big hit series that has a lot of funny parodies.
Title : SHINING INHERITANCE (Brilliant Legacy)
Genre : Family, Romance, Melo-drama, Comedy
Episodes : 28 / Network : MBC (April-July 2009)
Rating : 10/9 (MAIN LEADS : HAN HYO JOO & LEE SEUNG GI)

- A modern tale of the classic Cinderella story ; It's a stirring-high rating family drama to beat in my heart. Convincing characters, remarkable love square, candy-coated/bickering main pair and impressive second leads, all in one drama package.
Title : SHUT UP FLOWER BOY BAND
Genre : Musical, Romance, Youth
Episodes : 16 / Network : TVN (Jan-March 2012)
Rating : 9/9 (MAIN LEADS : SUNG JOON & JO BO AH)

- I'm not a fan of rock bands. Not a fan of guys with eye-liner. Not a fan of messy hair. Not a fan of black-rugged fashion. But this cool and cheeky youth-oriented musical drama manages to convert me into a huge fan. Teenage angst, solid friendship, cute romance and enticing rock battles ; It got spunk, charm and heart.
Title : SMILE, YOU (Smile Honey)
Genre : Family, Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 45 / SBS (Sept.2009-March 2010)
Rating : 10/8 (MAIN LEADS : LEE MIN JUNG & JUNG KYUNG HO)

- It's a riot family series that you should watch! Lots of playful squabbling not only from the main couple but also from the two families living in the same roof. The immensely adorable and saccharine main pair keeps the plot breezy and squee-worthy.
Title : SOMETHING ABOUT 1%
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 26 / Network : MBC (July-Dec.2003)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : KANG DONG WON & KIM JUNG HWA)

- I confess! I watched this because of Kang Dong Won and I'm glad I did. This drama shows that opposites attract each other. The happenings are predictable but because of the airy-plot and the chemistry of the pair, it's worth to watch.
Title : SPRING WALTZ
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 20
Network : KBS (March-May, 2006)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : HAN HYO JOO & SEO DO YOUNG)

-  I am not a big fan of the Endless Love season dramas but this one is the closest in my heart because it's less tragic and tear-free, well at least for me. The music is alluring to the ears and the ending gives me satisfaction.
Title : SPY MYUNG WOL
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 18 / Network : KBS (July-Sept.2011)
Rating : 6/5 (MAIN LEADS : HAN YE SEUL & ERIC MOON)

- A North Korean spy has a silly mission : Marry a South Korean hallyu star and bring him to her homeland. I'm pleased with the good start and ending but disappointed with Han Ye Seul, the execution and the flow of the story in the later part.
Title : STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (Dec.2003-Feb.2004)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : CHOI JI WOO & KWON SANG WOO)

- Sad story, sad characters and sad ending! It defines the word tragedy in every angle. The plot is a complete Korean drama cliche but still, it manages to move my heart and my eyes to tears. After all the hardships, then that's it?
Title : SUMMER SCENT
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 20 / Network : KBS (March-May, 2006)
Rating : 6/6 (MAIN LEADS : SONG SEUNG HOON & SON YE JIN)

- It's not as tragic unlike Autumn Tale and Winter Sonata but the ending doesn't pay for the time I've spent watching this.  I love the sunny sights and summer vibe but I hate Song Seung Hoon's hairdo! Yes! The hair matters to me the most!
Title : SUNGKYUNKWAN SCANDAL
Genre : Period, Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 20 / Network : KBS (Aug-Nov.2010)
Rating : 10/9 (LEADS : PARK YOO CHUN & PARK MIN YOUNG)

- A gender-bender drama that introduced me to my favorite Park Min Young. Slow start but once you continue it, you'll find it hard to drop it! Addictive, romantic and terrific! I had a hard time choosing between the three leading men. Bro-mance is super cute to boot!
Title : SWEET 18
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 17
Network : KBS (Jan-March,2004)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : HAN JI HYE & LEE DONG GUN)

- An 18-year-old-high school student married a 28-year-old prosecutor. It's wacky, light, and sweet as the title implies. Well-paced plot, compatible main pair and hilarious scenarios, you'll find this pleasurable to watch.

Title : TAMRA, THE ISLAND
Genre : Romance, Comedy, Period
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (Aug-Sep. 2009)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : IM JOO HWAN & SEO WOO)

- Spending hours in this comical and adventurous race-fusion series featuring an off-beat trio and wacky villagers is like going on a dive under the sea, the deeper you get, the more you discover the beauties and treasures the drama hides. TEAM PARK KYU all the way!
Title : TEMPTATION OF WIFE
Genre : Family, Melo-drama, Romance
Episodes : 129 / SBS (Nov. 2008-May 2009)
Rating : 5/4 (MAIN LEADS : JANG SEO HEE & KIM SUH HYUNG)

- This is about infidelity, oppression and revenge. If you're an older woman, age-30-and-above, it's a recommended drama for you but if you're as young as me, skip this! It's entertaining but nothing new! Expect here all the worst things a villain can do!

Title : THE EQUATOR MAN
Genre : Romance, Drama
Episodes : 20
Network : KBS (March-May 2012)
Rating : (0/0) (MAIN LEADS : UHM TAE WOONG & LEE JOON HYUK)

- ON GOING (Still-airing)
Title : THE GREATEST LOVE (Best Love)
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (May-June 2011)
Rating : 9/9 (MAIN LEADS : CHA SEUNG WON & GONG HYO JIN)

- What will happen if a famous actor falls head over heels with a washed-up pop idol? You get a crazy, sweet and gut-busting series. Another Hong-sisters rom-com that will make you insanely in love! This show made a Cha Seung Won and Yoon Kye Sang Fan out of me!
Title : THE KING 2 HEARTS
Genre : Romance, Black Comedy
Episodes : 20
Network : MBC (March-May 2012)
Rating : (0/0) (MAIN LEADS : LEE SEUNG GI & HA JI WON)

- ON GOING (Still-airing)

Title : THE MOON THAT EMBRACES THE SUN
Genre : Period, Romance
Episodes : 20 / Network : MBC (Jan-March 2012)
Rating : 8/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM SOO HYUN & HAN GA IN)

- It stunned me with its over-hyped and grandiose start that exhibited majestic  portrayals, enthralling chemistry and heart-fluttering moments but as the characters grew and the story evolved, it lost its bite only to linger in a foreseeable narration and lucid complication.
Title : THE PAINTER OF THE WIND
Genre : Period, Romance
Episodes : 20 / Network : SBS (Sept-Dec,2008)
Rating : 7/8 (LEADS : MOON GEUN YOUNG & PARK SHIN YANG)

- The heroine is a gifted-artist who disguised as a boy so that she can be successful in Art. Moon Geun Young's acting is superb! I can't believe that she and Moon Chae Won will have an onscreen chemistry knowing that they are both females.
Title : THE PRINCESS' MAN
Genre : Period, Romance, Action
Episodes : 24 / Network : KBS (July-Oct.2011)
Rating : 10/10 (LEADS : PARK SHI HOO & MOON CHAE WON)

- Epic love tale, gripping political intrigue, compelling characters, poignant scenes, astounding musical score and solid acting ; this period drama branded as Joseon Era's Romeo and Juliet will keep you on the edge of your seat in every jaw-dropping episodes of it.
Title : TREE OF HEAVEN
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 10 / Network : SBS (Feb-March,2006)
Rating : 5/5 (MAIN LEADS : PARK SHIN HYE & LEE WAN)

- The Stairway To Heaven young stars reunited in this sorrowful series. It's so exhausting to see Park Shin Hye here always has tears in her eyes because if I'm not mistaken, she cries almost in every episode. A sad drama, another tragedy!
Title : WHAT HAPPENED IN BALI (Memories in Bali)
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 20 / Network : KBS (March-May, 2006)
Rating : 8/8 (MAIN LEADS : HA JI WON, JO IN SUNG & SO JI SUB)

- Love triangle at its best. After I finished this, I unconsciously uttered. "What the hell happened in here?" Yeah! My mind was floating! I was so lost for words to describe this dark drama. This is the series that I love to hate but I just can't because the leads are spectacular!

Title : WHAT'S UP?
Genre : Musical, Romance, School
Episodes : 20 / Network : MBN (Dec.2011-Feb.2012)
Rating : 9/9 (MAIN LEADS : IM JOO HWAN & KIM JI WON)

- Warmer than Heartstrings, fresher than The Musical and fiercer than Dream High : This drama beats the high strings in my heart as the musical students reach their dreams. Breathtaking cinematography, striking back stories and engaging performances made this a winner.
Title : WHAT'S UP, FOX?
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (Sept-Nov.2006)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : GO HYUN JUNG & CHUN JUNG MYUNG)

- To be honest, I don't enjoy older-woman-younger-man-relationship as much as I enjoy older-man-younger-woman-set-up but this drama pulled me out of my preference. I love the adult humor, the couple, the sweetness  and of course, Chun Jung Myung!
Title : WHICH STAR ARE YOU FROM?
Genre : Romance, Drama, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : MBC (March-May, 2006)
Rating : 6/7 (MAIN LEADS : KIM RAE WON & JUNG RYEON WON)

- This is not the kind of drama that I would love to re-watch not because it's not good but just because I can't connect myself with the characters, the problem lies with me, I guess. It has some comedic spots and great scenes to watch for.

Title : WILD ROMANCE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Jan-Feb.2012)
Rating : 6/5 (MAIN LEADS : LEE DONG WOOK & LEE SHI YOUNG)

- It began with a pace as fast as bullet train but winded down after a series of petty-gut-busting bickering. This creepy show has more "wild" than "romance". Bipolar ex-lover, senseless stalking and plot-holes are the three strikes that make this drama out of the awesome line.
Title : WILL IT SNOW FOR CHRISTMAS?
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 16 / Network : SBS (Dec.2009-Jan.2010)
Rating : 7/7 (MAIN LEADS : GO SOO & HAN YE SEUL)

- How can a first episode be the best of all episodes? The strong start with the young versions of Go Soo and Han Ye Seul is amusing and gushing. Most of the parts are sentimental and moving but later on, the series gets too upsetting to keep on.

Title : WINTER SONATA
Genre : Romance, Melo-drama
Episodes : 20 / Network : KBS (Jan-March,2002)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : CHOI JI WOO & BAE YONG JOON)

- This drama is both the queen and king of Korean drama tragedy ; amnesia, incest, swapped-identities, fatal illness and truck-load of crying, name it! Watching this is the same as having a sob-fest! Tissues are not enough so use towels instead.
Title : WISH UPON A STAR (Pick Up The Stars)
Genre : Romance, Comedy, Drama
Episodes : 20
Network :SBS (Jan-March,2010)
Rating : 7/5 (MAIN LEADS : CHOI JUNG WON & KIM JI HOON)

- It's good but not memorable. Plot-wise, it has a lot of flaws but there's enough romance to hold the attention of viewers. The kids are adorable, the heroine is charming but others characters lack substance.
Title : WITCH YOO HEE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network :SBS (March-May,2007)
Rating : 5/5 (MAIN LEADS : JAE HEE & HAN GA IN)

- Weak plot, loose writing and plain complications ; It's an un-challenging watch for me. I don't like this but I don't hate it as well, somewhere in the middle. Jae Hee is cute, Kim Jeong Hoon is good-looking and Han Ga In is pretty but that's all I can remember in the end.
Title : WORLD'S WITHIN
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 16 / Network : KBS (Oct-Dec.2008)
Rating : 7/6 (MAIN LEADS : SONG HYE KYO & HYUN BIN)

- No one will argue on me that the main pair here is one of the best-looking couples in K-dramaland. Too bad the story line is not as beautiful as the leads are. But I pick-up some facts inside the world of drama production which are quite interesting.
Title : YOU'RE BEAUTIFUL
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network :SBS (Oct-Nov.2009)
Rating : 10/9 (MAIN LEADS : JANG GEUN SUK & PARK SHIN HYE)

- This is a laughtrip ; The funniest cross-dressing drama that I've ever watched. No boring moments, speedy pace, unforgettable characters and lots of perky and lovely events. This is definitely included in my all-time favorites! I'll be an A.N.JELL fan forever!
Title : YOU'VE FALLEN FOR ME (Heartstrings)
Genre : Romance, Musical
Episodes : 15 / Network : MBC (June-Aug.2011)
Rating : 6/5 (MAIN LEADS : PARK SHIN HYE & JUNG YONG HWA)

- Sadly, I didn't fall for this! Dull characters (except for Kang Min Hyuk's role), boring love-line, turtle-like movement of the plot ; It's a youth-musical oriented drama that lacks energy, passion and rhythm. Though the main couple is super cute.

TAIWANESE CORNER O.o

Title : 100% SENORITA (Twin Sisters)
Genre : Romance, Drama
Episodes : 40 / Network : GTV (November, 2004)
Rating : 9/8

- A heiress in a big company hired a girl who identically looks like her to pretend to be her when her face got damaged and changed because of an accident planned by her own boyfriend. Story is tight, cast are wonderful and romance is engrossing.
Title : AT THE DOLPHIN BAY
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 28 / Network : SET TV (2003)
Rating : 8/7

- A tale of two immortal lovers that fight for their love against all odds. Aside from the romance, different kinds and degrees of love are also shown. The plot is well-written and the musical score is memorable. I love the male leads the most!
Title : AUTUMN'S CONCERTO
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 21 / SET TV (Oct.2009-Feb.2010)
Rating : 9/7

- What the mind forgets, the heart remembers. It is the same-old and familiar amnesia catastrophe but the heart-melting scenarios and well-acted cast make the drama fresh and intense. Plus the adorable child actor adds charm to the upbringing of the show.

Title : BLACK & WHITE
Genre : Action, Romance
Episodes : 24
Network : PTS (Apr-June.2009)
Rating : 7/7

- A naughty, luxurious and playboy cop meets a serious, short-tempered and tough police. It rocks the action but sucks in romance. The police cases are great but the love line is so confusing and complicated.

Title : CORNER WITH LOVE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : CTV (Jan.-April 2007)
Rating : 7/6

- There's more story than the "poor-boy-meets-rich-girl" premise. I had the interest about this solely because I badly miss Barbie Xu due to my post-Meteor Garden obsession and I can't believe that this will introduce me to another must-watch talented actor named Show Luo.

Title : DEVIL BESIDE YOU
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 14 / Network : CTV (June-Sept. 2005)
Rating : 7/7

- I am not a huge fan of bad boys but Mike He breathed life to his devilish role in an irresistible way that I can't possibly say no to him. Love is sure twisted especially if the object of your attraction turns out to be your new step-sibling out of your parent's new marriage.
Title : DOWN WITH LOVE
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 16 / Network : CTV (Jan.-May 2010)
Rating : 6/4

- The recycled and draggy conflicts of the story in the later part ruined the exciting chemistry of the main couple. The first half of the drama is positively farcical but the writer's intention to elongate the series resulted to lack of creativeness that made the show a flop.
Title : FATED TO LOVE YOU
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 24 / Network : SETTV (March-Aug. 2008)
Rating : 9/9

- No matter how slapstick the comedy turned out and no matter how ridiculously repetitive the couple played tug-of-war, this love story still deserved the title of 2008 Best Taiwanese Drama. The record-breaking rating of this show proves that it's popcorn worth to watch.
Title : HANA KIMI
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 15 / GTV (Nov.2006-March 2007)
Rating : 9/7

- Back in high school, I can still remember my student-self always rushing to go home after my last class so that I can reach the dubbed version in our local channel on-time. That's how hilariously playful and cute this drama is. Wu Chun's mere presence is more than enough!
Title : HI, MY SWEETHEART
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 14 / Network : GTV (Nov.2009-Jan.2010)
Rating : 8/7

- This is a certified drama crack of mine! The funny antics of the wacky pair delivers the jokey story a side-splitting entertainment. In this rom-com, Rainie Yang is at her best appearance, Show Lo re-defines himself in my actor dictionary and Pink Panther steals the show.
Title : HONEY AND CLOVER
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 14 / Network : GTV (May-Aug. 2008)
Rating : 7/5

- Thanks to this show, I got to know my favorite Janine Chang, got a glimpse of my Joe Cheng and got to see Eddie Peng for the first time. This live-action adaptation of the manga with the same title is the one nearest in my heart among the other versions.
Title : HOT SHOT
Genre : Romance, Comedy, Sports
Episodes : 16 / Network : CTV (July-Nov. 2008)
Rating : 7/6

- Add burning basketball action with sizzling hot players to get a combustible screen. I don't really care about the romance of the story because I don't have any will to share three handsome guys with anyone. This is good, though sometimes the court stunts went over-board
Title : IN TIME WITH YOU
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 13 / Network : FTV (Sept-Dec. 2011)
Rating : 10/10

- A passive but romantic hero who secretly loves his dominant and opinionated best friend for 15 years : This is the most realistic, natural and sincere series I've ever watched in my entire Asian drama viewing that owns me wholeheartedly. It delivers the best finale ever!

Title : IT STARTED WITH A KISS
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 30 / Network : CTV (Sept 2005-Feb. 2006)
Rating : 10/10

- When I said that the Korean Playful Kiss is the most visually impressive, it doesn't mean that it is the best version because this Taiwanese adaptation owns the crown. No one beats the clueless, optimistic and jolly Xiang Qin and her serious genius and stiff love, Zhi Shu.

Title : LAVENDER
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 10 / Network : SETTV (Dec. 2001)
Rating : 8/7

- This sentimental series is included in the earliest line-up of dramas that I watched in our local channel when I was still in grade school. The remarkable performance of the cast, the smooth mood development of the story and the ear-sticking music made this mushy drama a success.

Title : LOVE OR BREAD
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 12 / Network : GTV (Nov.2008-Feb.2009)
Rating : 4/3

- Love and hate are the two sides of this show. I gave my heart in this because it reunited my favorite Taiwanese pair but the show ripped it into pieces when they molded and turned Joe Cheng into a frivolous, lazy and broke Cai Jin Lai. To hell with the irritating story here!
Title : MARS
Genre : Romance, Action, Suspense
Episodes : 21 / Network : CTS (Aug.2004)
Rating : 8/7

- If you want to keep me sane, don't ever bring Vic Zhou and Barbie Xu again in my screen romancing each other in another drama. This dream couple of mine delivered an astounding chemistry in a dark, mature, sometimes creepy but always intense and heartfelt series called MARS.
Title : METEOR GARDEN
Genre : Romance, Drama, Comedy
Episodes :  27 / Network : CTS (April-Aug.2001)
Rating : 10/10

- No other Asian series can compare the depth of emotion I invested for this drama. If only watching this would make one earns money then probably, I am now a millionaire for the countless times I've watched this show. First love never dies and so does my eternal love for Meteor Garden.

Title : METEOR GARDEN 2
Genre : Romance, Drama, Comedy
Episodes :  31 / Network : CTS (Nov-Dec.2002)
Rating : 8/6

- I cursed and buried the word "amnesia" in my vocabulary because of this sequel. Why did they drag this memory loss tragedy for so long that it became a wound that kept on getting deeper every episode. But still, my ardent love for this show fought real hard and won in the end.

Title : METEOR RAIN
Genre : Romance
Episodes : 3 / Network : CTS (2001)
Rating : 7/7

- A delightful supplementary mini-series that projects three different stand-alone chapters focusing  the life of Mei Zuo, Xi Men and Dao Ming Zi individually. The side stories that happened at different times are really interesting especially the part of Xi Men and Xiao You.

Title : MISS NO GOOD
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes : 14 / Network : CTS (Sept-Dec. 2008)
Rating : 6/6

- A bubbly fashion murderer meets a stern fashion police. The make-over deal of the two is the biggest and silliest challenge of the show. Watching the over-the-top-comedy brings some fun slack entertainment, though I don't find any visible flying spark between the main pair.

Title : MY LUCKY STAR
Genre : Romance
Episodes :  20 / Network : SETTV (March-July 2007)
Rating : 7/7

- This Taiwanese-Korean drama collaboration worked fine for me. I wasn't even aware until I watched it halfway that the female lead is a Korean actress. The steady-pace, compelling chemistry, lovely scenarios and well-casted characters made this drama a jewel in its own right.
Title : MY MVP VALENTINE
Genre : Romance, Sports
Episodes :  28 / Network : SETTV (2002)
Rating : 3/4

- Do you know what will be the product when a drama tries too hard to imitate the magic of Meteor Garden mixing it with Slam Dunk action using raw talents from an idol boy band but fails in the end? Watch this show and you'll get the whole picture.

Title : REAL LOVE PLEASE PRESS THE BELL TWICE
Genre : Romance
Episodes :  15 / Network : CTS (2011)
Rating : 5/3

- If a fatally-flawed drama like this presses the doorbell of your house, don't open even your window. The outrageous plot murdered the lively chemistry of the main couple. Randomness all over the story, it seemed like the writer was drunk when she wrote the script for this.
Title : ROMANTIC PRINCESS
Genre : Romance, Comedy
Episodes :  13 / Network : GTV (Sept-Dec. 2007)
Rating : 5/4

- I watched this for Wu Chun and the Cinderella setting, dropped it for the messy writing then picked it up again for Calvin Chen. This is the outcome when a fairy writer suddenly turned into a wicked stepmom lacking ideas on how to make and break spells that she created herself.
Title : SILENCE
Genre : Romance
Episodes :  20 / Network : CTV (May-Sept. 2006)
Rating : 9/8

- Though this drama lacks one character's voice, the story shouts a resounding romance that brings nostalgia in your screen. The poignant memories of this heart-splitting series still linger in my head. It makes sign language so sweet and moving that you'll be inspired to learn it.

Title : SUMMER DESIRE
Genre : Romance
Episodes :  14 / Network : FTV (May-Aug. 2010)
Rating : 7/7

- Want a bumpy ride that will make you clueless about the destination? Follow the road trip of these threesome having burning desires all sitting on the front seat. This is one of those rare dramas that will require you not to predict things because there's a tricky twist in every turn.

(I ALSO WATCH JAPANESE DRAMAS but right now, I can't find enough time to include them here. This list is still on-going and my Taiwanese corner is not yet complete : to be continued . . . )

    1. Thank you for spending time reading my mini-reviews about dramas. You should try some of the Taiwanese dramas on my list. Start with IN TIME WITH YOU! It's beyond awesome! :D

About the Famous Princesses, I found myself patient! Hihi! Imagine, it's 80 episodes and that's equivalent to 80 hours! Whew! But it's entertaining. Aside from MY LEE SEUNG GI, the other characters are endearing too. ^

  14. I am just curious, did u finished watching i love you don't cry with 132 episodes? it has so many episodes :)) I also wanted to watch new tales of gisaeng :) I have read from your post that it is a good drama. :))

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Oh yeah! Unfortunately, I had no choice but to finish this stressful drama. My aunt loved it and she wanted me to accompany her while watching it on the internet. Well, the first half of I LOVE YOU, DON'T CRY was interesting! I especially love Lee Jung Jin but later on, the plot went too draggy and angsty.

Actually, an episode is equivalent to 35 minutes only. It's a weekday family drama, from Monday-Friday, so it's five times a week. It's not like those twice-a-week dramas that have 1 hour and 6 minute airtime.

On the other note, YOU SHOULD REALLY WATCH NEW TALES OF GISAENG! My Gosh, I LOVE THIS DRAMA SO MUCH!!! The leads are newbie actors that's why it didn't have that much popularity from fans but trust me! Watch this and you'll thank me later. First episode looks boring but hang on! It took me 5 episodes before I confirmed that this was a gem. Plus the main actor is soooooo HOT! LOL :D

      Delete
    2. thank u for that information :)) At first, I thought it was one hour each episodes. :) I'm just curious that's why I ask you. :))

I'm so excited to watch it already! :)) Maybe during my summer break, I'll watch it. Thank u for your recommendation :)) It's nice to talk to you even if it is just about on dramas :)) I really like your reviews. Before, I also wanted to make one, but I don't have the time and I'm not good at writing. I'm glad to have come across your site. I always visit this site. :)

  18. when I read your comment about the Korean version (Playful Kiss)honestly I disagree with it. hahaah though I haven't watched that series, Bias but i Agree the crown is still with the Taiwan version ( It started with a kiss )Nothing and No one can beat the acting of Ariel Lin and Joe cheng! it was so remarkable, Indeed they did both an excellent job compare to the korean version leading characters. :D

    ReplyDelete
    Replies
    1. Hi! Yeah, you're right! (Taiwanese) IT STARTED WITH A KISS is still the best version! I only said that Korean PLAYFUL KISS is the most impressive visually because they managed to improve the wardrobe and settings of this drama. I've also watched the Japanese version and it sucked! Hihi :D :D :D You should try the Korean version and see how it goes.

    2. Lol that is all right XD haha! As long as you read it first =] I'm just really happy you have this blog because I honestly was soo lost when it came to selecting dramas since there are so many. I didn't even know half of them until I came here. You really have a lot of time on your hands haha. I wish I could watch as many as you can. My college schedule only allows me to watch one at a time, but this month I am daring to start 2 at the same time lol.

Quick question, have you heard of the K Drama 'Padam Padam'? The one with Kim Bum? I have yet to see it, but my friend has seen it and she at first wanted me to see it, but then at then end she didn't [she got emotional about it and won't tell me what happened lol] I was just wondering if it was one you were going to view/review or not?

    3. Before anything else, I want to say "thank you" again. Hihi . . For bloggers like me, a single comment really means a lot. Because it just shows that there are people who actually bother to read what I write in this colorful corner of mine. I'm really an appreciative person so simple things like this can ultimately brightens up my day. ^^

Actually , I'm a busy bee! You know what, even I myself, wonder how I manage to juggle a lot of things. Not only am I watching dramas, movies, variety shows and animes but I'm also busy reading novels and mangas. Hehe! MY SECRET? Multi-tasking and sacrificing my social life. Haha :D Well, I should blame this obsession of mine on my non-existent love life. I'm an official member of N.B.S.B (No Boyfriend Since Birth) Club, so all of my free time belongs only to me and with my current lifestyle, I'm pretty sure that I won't have a boyfriend that will hinder my drama viewing in near future. I DON'T HAVE TIME FOR THAT! Hihi ^^

I'm only 19 and I'm still a student just like you. I just got hired in a full-time job so my current life gets crazier nowadays. To keep up with my dramas, I'm doing two things one at a time. Watching while eating, watching while waiting, watching while exercising, watching while doing my business in the restroom (Yeah! You read that right! :D), watching while cleaning, watching between breaks, etc. It's crazy, isn't? Oops, I forgot to include this : SLEEPLESS NIGHTS! I'm very much willing to give up my slumber time just to marathon a drama. Dark circles under my eyes just keep on piling everyday. Haha!

About your question, I've read a lot of good reviews about Padam Padam but I haven't seen it yet. My friends in dramaland used to rave about this series while it was airing before. According to them, it's not your typical k-drama story. It doesn't only revolve around the hero's love tale but it also tackles issues about humanity and life. I'm planning to give this drama a shot after I finish the dramas on my watch-list. Actually, I'm going to make a post this week about the Asian dramas I'm going to watch next so maybe you could check it out to see if there's a series that could catch your attention. ^^

      Woohoo! I didn't notice I already wrote a lengthy reply. =)

    4. Lol! Sorry it took forever to write back to you! I actually read this a while ago, but never had the time to reply ^_^ But now I do! The semester is almost over so I finally had a break to do some things I haven't been able to do n a while. I couldn't even watch Kdramas for a couple weeks...it killed me on the inside lol. Anyways, thanks for replying! I enjoyed reading what you wrote lol. You really do know how to multitask!!! XD I kind of fail at multitasking haha. I can only do one thing at a time or else I get frustrated.

Well, I just finished watching Secret Garden this morning and I was very pleased with it!! Very good drama! Padam Padam is somewhere on my watch next list lol. I saw a preview for it and it looks pretty interesting. I like that it is different =P I need a break from the same story lines ya know? lol. I will check out your watch next list and see if there is something on there for me ^_^ lol.

Oh quick random story I felt like sharing with you, so this past weekend was the Korean Music Festival in LA and I got to go! I was soooo happy! Finally saw my loves MBLAQ live! And I won a free album at the A+ fan meet before the concert began! I also was finally able to go to Korea town and hit up the plaza there! Everyone was so nice! I got many free kpop items with my album purchases. It was amazing. <3 I wish I could go back! lol Just felt like sharing my happiness!

Oh, and you're 19 too? I am actually going to be turning 20 on Tuesday @_@ I still feel like a child though lol. I will forever be a child at heart! XD Sigh...I'm getting old...lol. Oh! Sorry for the long reply haha XD
